Get to know Villa Counseling & Dr. Ashley

Founder/Owner of Villa Counseling Services

The name of this therapy practice was inspired by my family’s catering business—Villa Baglieri, affectionately known as “the Villa.” The Villa was a place where people from near and far gathered to celebrate life’s milestones and meaningful moments. It was my home away from home—a space of comfort, growth, and self-discovery.

Not all homes are happy places, but the Villa was. For countless guests, it was a setting that nurtured joy and connection, where some of life’s most cherished memories were made. Yet, those beautiful celebrations didn’t simply happen by chance; they required time, planning, collaboration, and a great deal of work behind the scenes—much like the process of therapy.

My hope is to create a similarly healing and supportive environment—one that allows you to process the challenges, embrace your growth, and uncover a life of authenticity and abundance. I would be honored to join you on this path towards finding your “Villa.”

I am here for you

My desire to help others overcome emotional struggles stems back as far as I can remember. No doubt influenced by the mental illness and addiction in my own family, I’ve always known that helping young people was what I was called on this earth to do. I focus on helping those people make sense of life, release pain, increase their self-worth and grow into their deepest potential.

Mental health and wellness is a priority in my own life and so I strive to practice what I preach. In my free time you can find me outdoors chasing the sun, strolling in Central Park, dancing to the beat, seeing the world, learning to speak Spanish, and spending quality time with ones I hold dear.

My Approach

I hold a Doctorate in Social Work and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State. As an inclusive therapist, I offer an integrative and trauma-informed therapeutic approach depending on your unique needs. My modality is rooted in relational and attachment theories, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and strengths-based methods. Above all, I find the relationship between therapist and client is what derives the most healing, growth, and change.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. The transformation of those that I work with has been incredible to witness. I’m confident that together, we can gain clarity and discover more meaning to life.

I am an ally to BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

EXPERIENCE

My work in mental health and addictions has shaped the foundation of my career and who I am as a therapist. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of counseling individuals of all ages in a variety of settings—outpatient and inpatient programs, rehabilitation centers, and community residences. Each experience has deepened my understanding of people’s resilience and the many ways healing can look and feel.In more recent years, my focus has turned toward supporting youth in behavioral health centers and school-based health clinics. Alongside my clinical work, I’ve served as a Clinical Supervisor and Program Manager, mentoring new social workers and interns as they find their rhythm in the helping profession. Teaching has always been another passion of mine; I’ve taught at Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work and Adelphi University, and have served as an adjunct professor at Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work since 2024.One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been traveling to Latinx countries, where I’ve strengthened my bilingual fluency and offered counseling and support to children in underserved communities. Those experiences continually remind me of the universal need for connection, compassion, and belonging that inspires my work every day.
